A super collection here. Thanks for your overview. The Salt Path was a great diversion during lockdown, I agree. I wish I had more to time to read MORE BOOKS- it's such a joy.

So many beautifully written reference points, some familiar, some not. And brought to life with your own gorgeous turns of phrase. What a glorious round up.

So much to slowly devour. The Cure for Sleep blew me away (see my earlier notes) and Salt Path has been on my TBR list forever, so after seeing yet more glowing praise I will be reading in this Autumn. Really happy to have your Substack.

Thank you for reading, and for taking the time to comment.

I hope you love The Salt Path (I'm sure you will). I enjoyed Winn's second book, The Wild Silence, just as much (and it highlights the significance of those lightly salted blackberries, too). https://www.instagram.com/p/CUecLRpgcn8/ Her third book, Landlines, is on my TBR now.

What a wonderful collection of books, and a beautifully written piece. I have just started the RC Sheriff and the others are noted!

A post to savour and return to over the week, as rich as a blackberry pie.

I must look up Path, being a Sussex born lass. Thank you.

Thank you. I'm on a train hurtling towards Sussex to deal with a difficult family situation, looking for 'glimmers' to brighten my morning and I found them in your words. Thank you. Xx
